Tower with a Baroque Roof (1792)
In 1556, the Ptuj city authorities commissioned the Italian builder Antonio de Riva to build a new tower on the site of the old Gothic one.
The new tower, built of brick with stone cornices between floors, lesenes, and window frames, is said to have originally had six floors and was one story higher than the current one.
A feature of the tower was the tent-like gable roof covered with slate, which was typical for that time.
